There are sixteen children living at Ramro Sathi. They come from Dhading, Humla and other regions of Nepal. There are two sets of siblings living among the eight boys and eight girls. Most, but not all, of the children have some living relatives in their home villages and efforts are made to maintain these connections through visits, particularly during festival times. The children attend a well respected local private school where instruction is in English and Nepali. In addition, tutoring is provided on a daily basis so each child can reach their potential. This strong focus on achievement through education is a core value of OCEAN Nepal and is the central goal of the organization. Our hope is that, through education, each child will have a brighter future and will become a happy, self-sufficient and contributing member of their family and community.
