In 2009, plans began to build a permanent home for the ten children living in Ramro Sathi. A piece of land was purchased in Kathmandu and construction started on our beautiful new home. The house officially opened in October 2010, amidst great excitement! It initially housed sixteen kids and two house mothers but since then there have been many comings and goings, with the current number of kids sitting at eight in the house, as well as one house mother. We have had the opportunity to host several international school service trips. These students have helped us with various maintenance tasks and improvements, both inside and outside. The house sustained some damage from the earthquake in Nepal in 2015. Thanks to several fundraising efforts, the house was fully repaired and returned to its original condition. With the children who live there and the volunteers who come to stay, the house is always busy, always full of laughter and always a welcoming place to come home to after a busy day in the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu.
